Miley Cyrus might be trying to follow in the footsteps of her Hannah Montana alter-ego as she put on a wig in an attempt to go undercover. But the "Hannah Montana" cutie failed to do it because her wig caught on fire.
Miley shot to fame on the hit Disney TV series, in which she reprises her role as Hannah Montana, a pop star who wears a wig on stage to conceal her true identity as school student Miley Stewart. And the 15-year-old girl attempted a similar stunt to disguise her true identity when out in public. But her efforts failed when she set her hair on fire.
"I had the idea (to go out in disguise) so I got a wig and it was really short, a tomboy cut, and I decided to straighten it," the Disney star told British talk show This Morning. "I'm sitting down and all of a sudden I start smelling smoke. I thought, 'What is that?' The wig is literally catching on fire because I didn't know it was a cheap wig."
And Miley realized that it only works on the show, not in real life. The teen sensation added, "And I thought, 'This isn't going to work for me.' So it doesn't work in real life but it works on the show!"
