Jennifer Hudson will join Tim McGraw, Josh Groban, Foo Fighters and many others to perform at the MusiCares Person of the Year gala.
Jennifer Hudson plans to make her first public appearance after mourning the loss of her family, including her mother, brother, and nephew in murders, which happened in October. The 27-year-old singer is scheduled to perform at the MusiCares Person of the Year gala on February 6, 2009 at Recording Academy fete at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Hudson, together with other celebrities, will perform at the show for two nights, until February 7. At the event, Hudson will join singers like
Tim McGraw,
Josh Groban,
Foo Fighters, Raul Malo,
Coldplay and many more, to sing
Neil Diamond's songs.
MusiCares Person of the Year is a fund raising program that puts luxury items, VIP experiences, and celebrity memorabilia into auction. The money gathered from the sale will be given to MusiCares, the organization that provides music people with financial, medical, and personal assistance.
After that, Jennifer Hudson will attend 51st annual Grammy Awards, which will be held on February 8, 2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. She has received 4 Grammy nominations. The singer considered receiving "4 Grammy nominations is truly a blessing". She explained, because "It's been a childhood dream of mine to release an album," while adding, "I'm extremely honored and humbled by the nominations."
