Sad news came from John Travolta's family. Basil Rahming, the Chief Superintendent of the Grand Bahama Police, has confirmed to Us Weekly that the actor's son, Jett Travolta, has died at 16.
John's lawyer, Michael Ossi, told TMZ, which first reported the news, that Jett suffered a seizure on Friday, January 2 at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. The 16-year-old son was reportedly taken to Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. An autopsy will also be performed at the hospital.
Meanwhile, police spokesperson Loretta Mackey told TMZ that Jett hit his head on the bathtub. Jett was found unconscious in the bathroom by a caretaker named Jeff Michael Kathrain around 10:00 A.M., the actor's lawyer told Us. And a Restview rep told TMZ that Jett's body will be transferred to Restview Memorial Mortuary and Crematorium in The Bahamas on Monday, January 5.
John Travolta has said his son suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome, a condition that leads to heart disease in rare cases. His wife Kelly Preston has also said Jett suffered from asthma and blamed household cleaners, fertilizers and pesticides for sparking the condition.
