According to his friend, rapper Drake, Lil Wayne is working on a new LP, which is said to be a rock album.

Lil Wayne is going rock. His friend, rapper Drake, says he and the 26-year-old singer are working together on Wayne's next album. And Drake reveals the new LP is a rock album.
"Wayne's coming out with a new album, it's a rock album. A complete rock album," the rapper tells MuchMusic.com. Drake adds he is collaborating with Wayne on a track, saying, "I have a song on there."
Drake also reveals that Wayne was inspired to try something new on his next album by
Kanye West, who has switched rapping for singing on his album "808s and Heartbreak". "It's something different in just that whole '808s and Heartbreak', just throwing individuals off," Drake explains.
