Father Wants Rihanna to 'Move On' From Chris Brown

Rihanna's family is speaking out against Chris Brown following his alleged attack on the R'n'B beauty, People is reporting in their cover story this week. The now 21-year-old singer's family in her native Barbados thought the 19-year-old hunk "flew so far under everyone's radar that we just didn't think he was that [abusive] type."

Chris was arrested February 8 for allegedly assaulting Rihanna in Los Angeles. The "With You" singer has released a statement on February 15, apologizing for the incident. "He was always looking after her needs," says the relative, "making sure she was happy."

But her dad, Ronald Fenty, hopes his daughter will "move on" from Chris. And a relative agrees, "I don't want her to go back to him. I don't think anyone does."

Recently, Star magazine reported that Rihanna has stayed in touch with Chris. "She keeps saying she wants to make sure that he's okay," a friend tells Star. "She thinks this will all just blow over and they can go back to how they were."
