Actress Penelope Cruz is over the moon. The Spanish beauty just won the first Oscar of the night. She picked up the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as a jealous ex-wife in "Vicky Cristina Barcelona".
"Has anybody ever fainted her? I might be the first one," the actress joked as she stepped on stage. During her acceptance speech, Penelope said she wanted "to share this with my fellow nominees and the amazing ensemble characters" in the Woody Allen film. She also thanked Spanish director Pedro Almodovar.
And the 34-year-old beauty wanted to dedicate her award to her parents and brother and sister and everyone who has helped her from the beginning. "I stayed up to watch the [Oscars], and I always felt that this cermeony was a moment of unity for the world because art, in any form, will always be our universal language," Penelope said.
Attending the 81st Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, February 22, Penelope Cruz looked fabulous in her white gown. The actress was all smiles as she posed for photographers on of the event.
