Paris Hilton becomes one of the 'biggest' winners at the 29th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards for her 'worst' contributions in movie industry during the year of 2008.
The hotel heiress,
Paris Hilton, won three nods at the 29th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards taking place in a small theater in Hollywood on Saturday February 21, one day before the 81st Annual Academy Awards. Leading the pack, the "Simple Life" star was named Worst Actress, Worst Screen Couple, and Worst Supporting Actress.
Paris was honored Worst Actress for her role as Cristabel Abbott in "
The Hottie and the Nottie". As for worst screen couple prize, Paris shared a trophy with her co-stars in the same movie, Joel David Moore (who played as Paris' would-be romantic interest) and Christine Lakin (who played the genetically jinxed "Nottie"). Meanwhile, she received Worst Supporting Actress in "
Repo! The Genetic Opera", where she landed the part as a drug- and surgery-addicted heiress.
Beside Paris Hilton,
Mike Myers also took home three awards at the ceremony. He was honored as Worst Actor for his role as Guru Maurice Pitka in "
The Love Guru", which was awarded as Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay.
"The Hottie and Nottie", which has Paris serving as an executive producer, had a budget of $2 million but only earned $27,000 at the box office. It received harsh critic from Razzie host Gretchen Enders, who commented the movie as "a vanity production in the worst sense ... Hilton, who served as executive producer, has no one to blame but herself."
