Former '7th Heaven' star Ashlee Simpson is very excited to be involved in The CW's 'Melrose Place' spin-off.
Ashlee Simpson insists that she can't wait to move into The CW's "Melrose Place" remake. "I'm thrilled to be joining the cast of Melrose Place," she says in a statement. "I look forward to being a part of its new generation of residents."
The "Melrose Place" stint will not be the first acting gig for Ashlee as she is guest starring with her husband,
Pete Wentz, on "CSI: NY" aired on March 18. She also previously appeared at the WB drama "7th Heaven" for two seasons from 2002 to 2004. In "Melrose Place", the mother of Bronx Mowgli Wentz will play a lead character, Violet, 'a bright-eyed but shrewd small-town girl and recent L.A. transplant who has come to town with a secret'.
Talking about the new role, Ashlee shares her excitement to the magazine. "Just enjoy it!" she says. "I just wish I'd had more perspective because I could've relaxed more. We had a great time. It was so intense and so fast. I didn't have the perspective to really enjoy what was happening."
