A source close to Rihanna and Chris Brown confirms to E! Online that the couple currently takes a break. The source describes that the pair hasn't called it a formal break-up, but they just want to take a distance for a while. However, reps for both singers haven't commented on the rumor.

Chris Brown, in the meantime, has been spending his time working on his album in Los Angeles, sources tell E! Online. "He's just putting ideas down for some songs he wrote," a source states. "He needs to feel like he's moving forward."

As for Rihanna, she reportedly flew to New York City on Thursday, March 12. She enjoyed quiet dinner along with Brandy, Beyonce Knowles, and Jay-Z at the Spotted Pig in the following night. Then, the Barbados-born singer went out for dinner with her pals at Da Silvano in the West Village on Saturday, March 14.

In another Rihanna news, the "Take a Bow" singer is currently eager to continue her life, a source close to her tells People. "She's out and about now. She's not hiding (the public spotlight) at this point," the source says. "She's trying to get her life back in order. She's trying to figure it all out. It's going to be hard."
