Movie beauty Keira Knightley lends her celebrity status to star in a new public service announcement (PSA) aimed to stop domestic violence, a topic which has become talk of the town ever since Chris Brown's attack on Rihanna in February was made public. In the PSA, Keira is seen being attacked by her boyfriend, whose face isn't shown, who thinks she has an affair with a co-star.
Upon arriving home from shooting, Keira is welcomed by her mad and jealous boyfriend who throws clothes right on her face. Giving Keira no time to argue, he immediately slaps her until she falls to the floor. Despite Keira pleading him to stop his action, the boyfriend continues kicking her body for several times.
"Isn't it time someone called cut?" read a tagline featured at the end of the PSA. "2 women die from domestic violence every week. Help Save Lives. Donate 2 Pounds A Month."
The anti-domestic violence PSA is directed by "Atonement" director Joe Wright for the U.K. domestic abuse charity Women's Aid. It will be aired in movie theaters starting from April 6.
