Mischa Barton says she doesn't regret her recent break-up from her beau of three months Luke Pritchard. She claims that the split has made her learn a lot of things about building a relationship. "I don't believe in regrets. Things are supposed to shape you and change you," she tells Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine. "I've learnt a lot from my mistakes. We've all done things that were stupid, or that didn't work out as planned, and it's human nature to grow from that," she adds.
In addition, "The O.C." actress also feels that she is really empowered to be more mature when she is single. "I'm still working on it but I've grown so much in the past six months. I've grown immensely and it's because I've been single. After I broke up with a boyfriend last year, I felt empowered," the 23-year-old beauty states. "I've forced myself to grow up - I really felt like it was time. And nothing makes you grow like finding out that somebody or something isn't good for you."
Mischa Barton began dating Luke Pritchard, the lead vocalist of British band The Kooks, in December last year. In February 2009, she officially announced her romance with Luke in her website. Unfortunately, she revealed her split on her blog just a month after that. "I'm sure you guys are all going to hear about it soon enough so I just wanted to tell you what is real first -- I broke up with Luke when I got to London," she wrote. "Things just didn't feel quite right," Mischa continued. "There was no cheating or anything terrible, the bad just started to outweigh the good and a long distance relationship is never an easy thing to do."
