Cam Gigandet will star in upcoming thriller movie, 'The Roommate', which is to be released in U.S. theaters in 2010.

Cam Gigandet will be involved in the production of thriller flick "
The Roommate". The 26-year-old is going to join "Gossip Girl" beauty
Leighton Meester. As for Cam, who previously starred in "
The Unborn" and "
Never Back Down", he will portray a boyfriend of a second female lead actress, who hasn't been cast yet. Meanwhile, Leighton will play a college freshman named Sara.
"The Roommate" is a movie which screenplay is written by Sonny Mallhi. Its story is centered on Sara, a freshman college student who randomly assigns to a freshman dorm and stays in a room with a stranger named Rebecca. Both of them finally become good friends, but things change as Rebecca begins to target many people in Sara's life.
The flick is directed by Christian E. Christiansen and produced by Roy Lee and Doug Davison through Vertigo Entertainment. It is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters in 2010.
