Though he currently is in final negotiations to star in 'Footlose' remake, Chace Crawford unfortunately has to deal with the hectic shooting schedule of 'Gossip Girl'.
Chace Crawford reportedly is in final negotiations to take the lead role of Ren McCormick in "
Footloose" remake. However, there is one problem as the shooting time for the movie and his TV series "Gossip Girl" clashes. "There's a big overlap of when he'd have to shoot 'Footloose' and the next season of 'Gossip Girl,'" a source tells E! Online.
Furthermore, producers of the TV series have stated that they can't reschedule Crawford's shooting time. "Chace may be hiring a big-league attorney to come in and figure out how to make it work," the source adds. However, a representative for the young actor is yet to give any confirmation about the matter, reports.
Previously, Chace Crawford was said auditioning for a role in "Footloose" to replace "High School Musical" hunk
Zac Efron, who has dropped out of the musical remake. "He did really well," a source said about Crawford's audition.
"Footloose is a project we've longed to see rebooted for a new generation. While Zac in no longer attached, we remain excited and committed to the collective brain trust of [HSM turned Footloose director] Kenny Ortega, Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, who will reinvigorate the franchise," read a press release issued by Paramount Pictures about a plan to replace Efron. "Their fresh take on the film will undoubtedly be filled with the same kind of breakout performances that we've come to expect from them."
