Hayden Panettiere has auditioned for the role of Ariel Moore in 'Footloose' remake.

Hayden Panettiere has auditioned for the role of Ariel Moore in the remake of "
Footloose", which is set to be released in U.S. theaters in 2010. She was reported singing for the filmmakers of the flick. "They were really impressed," a source said about Hayden's audition. "No one realized what a good singer she is."
If Hayden reaches a deal to star in the flick, she may dance and sing opposite "Gossip Girl" heartthrob
Chace Crawford, who reportedly is in final negotiations to take the lead role of Ren McCormick. However, the 19-year-old actress still has a rival, "Dancing with the Stars" winner
Julianne Hough, who is also said to be considered for the role of Ariel. Hayden's representative is yet to give further comments about the report though, reports.
Hayden Panettiere is not only known as an actress, but she is also credited for her music achievements. She released a pop single "Wake Up Call" last year and recorded several songs for various soundtracks.
