"Milkshake" songstress Kelis files for divorce from her husband of four years Nas. Attorney Laura Wasser filed a petition on behalf of Kelis at Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles on April 30, citing irreconcilable differences. "I can confirm that she has filed for divorce," Laura told VIBE. "We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time."
Kelis currently is expecting her first child with Nas. In February, the 35-year-old rapper confirmed his baby-on-the-way is a boy. "Personally, life is good. I'm sure that y'all heard K is expecting," he wrote on a blog entry at Global Grind.com. "The internet seems to be more excited than I am. It's crazy! I got too much to think about, and I didn't wanna leave all my fans out the loop. But I wanted to let ya'll know from me personally that I'm having my first SON!!!!!"
Kelis and Nas first met in 2002 at an MTV Music Awards afterparty. They finally got married on January 8, 2005. The baby boy will be the first kid for the 29-year-old singer, while is the second for Nas as he has a daughter, Destiny, from his previous relationship.
