Katy Perry reveals the fake marriage she had with her ex. boyfriend when she was 21-year-old in Vegas.
Katy Perry once again hit the public attention. Recently, she opened up about her secret "marriage" to PopEater.com when she was being interviewed regarding her new video "Waking Up in Vegas". She stated that she had a fake marriage when she was 21 with her ex. boyfriend when they were in Las Vegas.
The experience eventually was the inspiration of her new single. "'Waking Up in Vegas'" is basically a song about getting into trouble with your best friend or your boyfriend or your girlfriend - or whoever you're with - and not having any 'I'm sorry for what I did,'" she explained.
Katy also gave a full description of her fake marriage in Vegas, saying "We went to Vegas on a whim and we decided to get fake married. We took all the pictures with the minister, with the fake cake, in the fake chapel and got a fake marriage certificate." She continued, "We went and bought a wedding dress and a suit at a thrift store, and scanned the pictures and the certificate to my family members, my manager at the time [and] totally freaked the s--- out of them."
Katy, now 24, claimed that to this day she still has "the wedding dress and the certificate". "It was the most hilarious, stupid prank I've ever pulled," Katy commented when she recalled that moment in the past.
