After being proposed by David Otunga on her 27th birthday, Jennifer Hudson gave a special proposal in return to her boyfriend.
replied David Otunga's proposal with a surprise. After her boyfriend proposed to Hudson on her 27th birthday (September 2008), Hudson made an encore proposal to Otunga on his birthday, last month.
Hudson, who is said to be pregnant with their first child, was presenting Otunga a 5 carats Neil Lane engagement ring personally designed by Hudson. The "American Idol" alumna had worked with Lane for months to design the ring. Lane said the ring is "masculine, yet has a lot of sparkle".
"Jennifer wanted to give him something really special when she asked David to marry her," said Lane who also designed the engagement ring which Otunga gave to Hudson. Lane further added about the process they went through in designing the ring, saying "Jennifer and I went through lots of different designs, talked about it a lot and she was very open."
Too bad, the ring was too big for Otunga because both Hudson and Lane didn't know Otunga's ring size. So, they had it resized last weekend in Lane's store in Los Angeles.
