Carrie Underwood will be on the stage of "American Idol" final again, but this time not as a contestant. Her rep has confirmed that the winner of the fourth season of "American Idol" will sing this year's farewell song, her cover of Motley Crue's metal ballad, "Home Sweet Home", which was recorded in a country music manner.
The farewell song is usually performed during result shows. The tradition began two years ago with DAUGHTRY's original "Home" playing over the videos, and Ruben Studdard's cover of Kenny Loggins's "Celebrate Me Home" was featured last year.
The four-time Grammy winner appearance next week (Tuesday, May 19) will be the second on this season "American Idol" after her her duet with Randy Travis in country week. Beside Carrie, the "American Idol" final show will also feature the 2008 "American Idol" winner, David Cook. Other stars that are reported to have agreed to perform include Lionel Richie, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas and Keith Urban.
