Adam Lambert and Kris Allen made a fair match on 'American Idol' finale which was held at Nokia Theatre on Tuesday, May 19, night.
Adam Lambert and
Kris Allen rocked the Nokia Theatre on "American Idol" season 8 finale. With Kris and Adam kept subtly adjusting their stage personalities during the Tuesday (May 19) night, the battle was said as a fair match.
Adam sang first with Tears for Fears' "Mad World", emerging from a fog in black overcoat. Kris appeared later with "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers, sitting behind the piano. In the second round, the duo finalists brought the songs which were chosen by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller. Kris came up with a guitar, delivering
Marvin Gaye's song, "What's Goin' On". Then came Adam, singing
Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come", pouring himself into the song as he cried out, "My change, my change is gonna come!"
At the backstage, Adam claimed his two songs were symbolic. "Anybody who's been oppressed can relate to that song," he said. While Kris believed that he did his best on his song "Ain't No Sunshine", saying "For me, I think I did my best on 'Ain't No Sunshine', because I had already done that song [on 'Idol' previously] and I had already rehearsed it."
Previously during a press conference in the morning, both Kris and Adam admitted that they were nervous before their finale night and would be more nervous right before the performance. However, the guys said they don't really have any performance superstitions or rituals to cope with their anxiety.
