Carrie Underwood secures the 1st rank on the list of Forbes' Top 'Idol' Earners of 2009, as she banked an estimated 14 million U.S. dollars last year.
Winner of "American Idol" 4th season
Carrie Underwood gets the first position on the list of Top "Idol" Earners of 2009 compiled by Forbes magazine. Last year, she got an estimated $14 million, which she received by performing more than 300 concerts, releasing 2 albums, and selling a total of 9.6 million copies and 10.7 million downloads.
Coming in the second rank is
Jennifer Hudson, one of the finalists in the 3rd season. She banked $5 million over the past year. Joining both songstresses on the list is the 1st season's winner
Kelly Clarkson. She seizes the third place as she has earned $4.2 dollars in 2008. Her latest single entitled "All I Ever Wanted" is debuted at number 1 on Billboard earlier this year.
Additionally,
David Cook, the winner of the 7th season, gets the 8th rank on the list. He has earned about $2 million dollars from selling 1.1 million copies of his self-titled major label debut album.
