Adam Lambert does not get bothered with Clay Aiken's critique on him, claiming Clay only tries to get public attention.
Clay Aiken's critique of
Adam Lambert's singing might hurt Adam's fans, but the latest "American Idol" runner-up seems not taking Clay's comment to heart. Recently, Adam responded calmly on Clay's negative words to him, saying that the former "Idol" runner-up criticized him in an attempt to get public attention.
"I don't know Clay," Adam said in an interview on Thursday, May 28, morning after performing on the "Today Show." He added, "I'm glad he's getting headlines now though, because he wasn't before." Adam even gave Clay thumbs up sign while saying, "If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him."
Last week, it was reported that Clay wrote on his website that he doesn't like Adam's performance on "American Idol" finale when Adam sang
Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire". Clay said at that moment that Adam's voice was "Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening". A day later, Clay wrote again on his blog, asking for apology to Adam for his negative comment.
In the same interview after "Today Show"'s performance, Adam was also asked about the rumors that AT&T affected the result of "American Idol" finale. He said, "There are plenty of standards and practices set up where they make sure that there's no, foul play. And I don't think it's a conspiracy." He also believes that "people are making a big deal out of nothing."
