Adam Lambert says that he would love to join Queen, but chooses to focus more on his recording career for now.
Adam Lambert has released the latest statement regarding the possibility of him joining
Queen. Thursday, May 28, morning Adam appeared on NBC's "Today Show" and dispelled the rumors that he is ready to take the place of the band's late frontman, Freddie Mercury. He chose to make his solo album as his priority for now.
"I would love to sing with them anytime," Adam said on the show where he performed his moody version of "Mad World" at Rockefeller Plaza. But then he also explained that he has another more important job to do right now, saying "That would be awesome but right now I am going to focus on my own recording career."
Previously, Adam was still open for the possibility to perform with the legendary band as long as he is also able to work on his album. The band first expressed an interest on Adam to be Queen's lead singer after their collaboration performance on "American Idol" finale, but both parties never had a chance to meet and discuss it seriously.
