Playing on-screen lovers in vampire drama movie 'Twilight', Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart win Best Kiss MTV Movie Award at the annual awards gala over the weekend.
Robert Pattinson and
Kristen Stewart, who play on-screen lovers in "
Twilight", are among the early winners at this year's MTV Movie Awards, taking home the Best Kiss prize. The Edward Cullen and Bella Swan depicters best some heavy contenders vying for the category, which include
Angelina Jolie and
James McAvoy in "
Wanted (2008),"
Freida Pinto and
Dev Patel in "
Slumdog Millionaire",
James Franco" and
Sean Penn in "
Milk", and
Vanessa Hudgens and
Zac Efron in "
High School Musical 3: Senior Year".
Robert, in the meantime, wins two other awards; Breakthrough Male Performance, and Best Fight for his battle scene with co-star
Cam Gigandet, who stars as James in the hit vampire drama flick. As for Kristen, she also wins Best Female Performance award.
In addition to the "Twilight" cast, the on-going awards show also witnesses "High School Musical" leading actor Zac as a winner. He nabs Best Male Performance award, besting over
Christian Bale of "
The Dark Knight",
Robert Downey Jr. of "
Iron Man",
Shia LaBeouf of "
Eagle Eye", and
Vin Diesel of "Fast & Furious" movies.
2009 MTV Movie Awards, which is hosted by "Saturday Night Live" star
