Angelina Jolie has been declared as the Most Powerful Celebrity in the World this year. On Forbes' list of The World's Most Powerful Celebrities which was released on Wednesday, June 3, the actress nabbed the No. 1 spot, topping Oprah Winfrey who fell down to No. 2 after two consecutive years sitting on the highest rank.
The list itself ranks stars from the film, TV, music and sports worlds based on entertainment-related earnings as well as exposure in the media. In fact, Angie's ranking, which jumped two stairs up from her third position last year, was determined by her last year income of 27 million U.S. dollars combined with her fame. Thus, Angie ousted Oprah though she earned much less than the talk show host who took in 275 million U.S. dollars.
"Jolie has always been able to attract tabloid attention and Oscar nods, but this year, she's finally figured out a way to make serious money," the magazine wrote about Angie. Forbes also called the "Wanted (2008)" star as a rich, talented, and beautiful celebrity.
