Heidi Montag aka Heidi Pratt was rushed to a hospital in Costa Rica on Saturday, June 6 after failing ill on the set of reality show "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!". She was diagnosed with a gastric ulcer, following a challenge on the TV show during which she and her hubby Spencer Pratt were kept in a dark room for a day and a night with only water, rice and beans.
The challenge was given as a punishment because the twosome left the show. Though Heidi was totally sick, according to a cast member who told , she was asked by the executives of NBC to stay on the set. The 22-year-old actress currently is still on medications.
Talking about holding Speidi in isolation as punishment, Paul Telegdy, NBC's Exec VP of Alternative Programming, told Ryan Seacrest, "...They are now going to be examined, and their value system utterly deconstructed." Paul then continued, "These people really are going to bare their souls."
Most recently, the producers of "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" responded to the abuse allegations, stating in a statement to OK! Magazine "ITV Studios, producers of the series, state that press reports at this time are untrue." Then, they added, "ITV has been producing this format around the world for many years and the health of the celeb participants are of the utmost importance."
"A medic and a doctor are present at the location at all times for all participants," the producers explained further. "All allegations of the celebrities being deprived of food and water are completely untrue."
