Natalie Portman has agreed to play in Darren Aronofsky's "Black Swan", a supernatural thriller set in the world of New York City ballet. She will play the lead, a veteran ballerina who finds herself in a competitive situation with another dancer. The sanity of Natalie's role in the movie is questioned because it's unclear whether the rival is a supernatural apparition or simply her delusion.
"Black Swan" was set up in early 2007 at Universal Pictures, but the studio dropped it. It was said that Natalie's inclusion in the cast is a progress that could add a boost to the stalled project. The movie has undergone several changes since it was first developed by Universal and has been making the rounds to studios and specialty divisions.
Reports said if financial factor can be settled, "Black Swan" may begin its filming this year. Meanwhile, Natalie Portman is ready to shoot her new comedy "Your Highness" in United Kingdom.
