After starring in "Newlyweds" with ex-husband Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson returns to another reality TV show. On Monday, June 22, VH1 officially announced that Jessica has signed a deal to join the network's new project "The Price of Beauty" which centers on body image.

Jessica, who received criticism for her curvier figure when she was spotted wearing high-waisted jeans earlier this year, will start shooting the reality show in mid-July. She will travel around the world in search of the meaning of true beauty by studying the local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes and even participating in some of the extreme practices she discovers.

"When (I was approached) for a show about true beauty, I was immediately intrigued," Jessica said about the show. She also claimed, "I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect."

Jessica is so excited to start her journey with the show as a source close to her informed, "She has been doing research into some of the insane things people do to try to make themselves more beautiful and she is shocked. She thinks it will be fun to try some of them." The same enthusiasm is shown by Jeff Olde, EVP, VH1 Original Programming & Production, who stated, "We at VH1 are excited to be in the passenger seat next to her as she begins this fantastic journey."
