Candlelight vigil for
Michael Jackson has been held at the Motown Historical Museum in Detroit on Sunday, June 28. Thousands of people came to the original home of Motown Records, where Michael began his singing career as a member of the Jackson Five, to honor the late singer.
Many of the fans sang his songs, held some handwriting posters and brought Michael's album covers. Among the flock, there was a guy, 28-year-old Tyuawn Brown, who impersonated the King of Pop in his style and outfits. Tyuawn entertained the crowd as they waited the vigil to begin.
People who came to the vigil also brought bouquets, stuffed animals and glittery white gloves which created a makeshift shrine on the front steps of the museum. Audley Smith, the spokesperson of the museum, told Detroit Free Press that the makeshift shrine will remain there for at least a month until it is moved to Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit, where a ceremony will be held.
