Public will have chance to say their last goodbye to Michael Jackson. According to Brian Oxman, lawyer of the Jacksons, the family wants a public viewing for the late singer to be held at Neverland ranch on Friday, July 3, followed by a private memorial service on Sunday, July 5. Michael's body will be transported from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara County, California on Thursday, July 2 at 10.00 A.M. with a 30-car motorcade.
On Tuesday, June 30, a source from law enforcement has informed they currently discuss about the security and traffic control. A department spokesman Lt. Butch Arnoldi told E! Online, "Our role will primarily be traffic, but also crowd control. We will also be making sure there is no trespassing on neighboring ranches and stuff like that. We would be stationed on the perimeter of the house. The actual roadway will be the responsibility of the CHP."
However, the question of where the late superstar will be laid to rest remains unanswered because the family wants to wait until the results of independent autopsy performed on Monday, June 29, are released. Previously, during a press conference on Monday, June 29, Michael's father Joe Jackson hinted that his son will not be buried at the ranch. Meanwhile, the singer's hometown of Gary, Indiana, has asked the family to send him there, according to the mayor's spokeswoman.
