Public memorial service for late Michael Jackson will not be held at Neverland ranch as it was previously reported. The family, through their new publicist Ken Sunshine, announced on Wednesday, July 1, "Contrary to previous news reports, the Jackson family is officially stating that there will be no public or private viewing at Neverland."
Affirming the previous statement, a source claimed "nothing is planned for Neverland, at least through Friday." It was said the family faced problems dealing with permission from Los Olivios, California officials. In addition, a source at the California Highway Patrol reported they had "not received any official word [from Neverland or the Jackson Camp] as to whether it's going to happen."
Although the public viewing at the ranch which was planned for Friday, July 3, will not happen, the Jacksons' rep stated, "Plans are underway regarding a public memorial for Michael Jackson, and we will announce those plans shortly." While the family hasn't confirmed where the public viewing will be held, another speculation has emerged that the event may take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles next week.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, July 1, has learned that the superstar's body is currently being held at the Hollywood Hills location of Forest Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuaries and was placed "in the freezer". The location is believed to be the most possible option for the family to hold a funeral, but they have not decided yet on where the late King of Pop will be buried.
