Ryan Reynolds and wife Scarlett Johansson have uttered their intention to have a child through adoption. The actor has adoption plan because his older brother is also adopted. "My oldest brother is adopted and I have every intention of adopting at some time. I'm very grateful for having my brother in my life," Ryan stated in an interview with British publication Glamour.
Ryan thinks there are many kids who need families and are waiting to be adopted, stating "I couldn't be more pro-adoption. There are plenty of kids in the world that need it." The actor also told that being raised around his three older brothers gave him advantages to film action scene, claiming "I learnt how to take a punch from a very early age. I was routinely pummelled into a fine cottage cheese."
Still talking about his family, Ryan thanks his parents for the good genes he inherits, saying "I have my father's face and body, but my mother's unshakeable thirst for knowledge." He continued talking about his mother, "She works part-time jobs, but basically she's been a student her whole life. She still goes to university and she's in her 60s."
Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson got married in September 2008 in his native Canada. However, the adoption may not happen any time soon since the actress informed the February issue of Harper's Bazaar that she and Ryan still had no plans to start a family. "I'm not pregnant nor will I be any time soon," the "Iron Man 2" star insisted.
