Hayden Panettiere has admitted she was emotionally tortured by her classmates after they found out that she was an actress.
has just revealed that her experience as a student was not as great as that of her "Heroes" character Claire Bennet. In an interview with Details magazine, she admitted she could not be friends with her school mates. "I was tortured, emotionally tortured by these girls. Every time I came back from filming, it would be me trying to find my way back into the clique. And they weren't having it," she recalled.

She also informed the publication that she felt different from the rest of her classmates since she was in first grade, saying "I remember hearing in first grade, 'Oh, why does she get to skip school?' It wasn't like I suddenly started feeling different. I always knew that I was." However, the actress claimed she did not regret of being what she is now, stating "I never felt I missed out-in fact, it was like, 'Oh, thank God I'm not that.'"

During the interview, Hayden Panettiere also talked about her father's arrest for allegedly attacking her mother during an argument in August 2008. "It's turned my life upside down and shaken it. It was very tough, especially since it's my family. It's one thing if you do it to me. I get frustrated, but I can handle it," she told Details, before adding "But when it involves my family, my friends, forget it-I lose my... I learned the game. The more I react, the angrier I get, the more satisfaction they get. That's exactly what they want."
