Jessica Simpson and Boyfriend Tony Romo Call It Quits

A source claims Jessica Simpson 'is heartbroken' after being dumped by her boyfriend Tony Romo the night before her 29th birthday.

Rumor has it, Jessica Simpson was dumped by her Dallas Cowboys quarterback boyfriend Tony Romo on Thursday, July 9, the night before her 29th birthday. A source close to the songstress tells People that Jessica is really devastated due to the break-up.

"She is heartbroken," the source says. "She loves Tony. But it's been difficult lately. He's busy with his career and she's getting ready to shoot her show ('The Price of Beauty'). They decided to part ways."

Jessica Simpson initially planned to throw a Barbie and Ken-themed party to celebrate her 29th birthday on Friday, July 10. Unfortunately, she was forced to cancel the bash because she split from Tony Romo. "She canceled her party because of this. She's doing OK," the source continues.

On Saturday, July 11, Jessica wrote in her Twitter page, "Barbie party didn't happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER!" A moment after that, she added, "Everyone needs to know that hope floats...grab the strings and pull it back to you...Falling asleep with my mom and the dogs. Please, Lord, give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies, and family rest. Bring all of us peace."

Jessica and Tony began dating in November 2007. Last year, the couple reportedly got engaged as they were snapped ring shopping. However, she soon shot down the rumors, saying "Tony and I have not gone to Neiman Marcus."
