Natalie Portman is going to star on action-fantasy movie "Thor". The "V for Vendetta" actress has been confirmed to play Jane Foster, a nurse who is the first love of Chris Hemsworth's Thor.
Beside Portman, Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L. Jackson are set to star on the flick, which is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on May 20, 2011. Coming from director Kenneth Branagh, the movie will be produced by Louis D'Esposito and Stan Lee in association with Paramount Pictures.
"Thor", which will begin shooting early next year, is adapted from the Marvel Comics. The story centers on The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is then forced to go to the Earth and live among humans as a punishment. While living there, he learns to become a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
