David Arquette and Courteney Cox Will Return to 'Scream 4'

David Arquette has confirmed that he and his wife Courteney Cox will reprise their roles in 'Scream 4'.

Nine years after filming "Scream 3", David Arquette and wife Courteney Cox have signed on to reunite with The Ghostface Killer in "Scream 4". After being rumored for several months that the couple will reprise their roles in the new installment of the horror film series, David has confirmed the news to Marc Malkin from E! Online, stating "We are going to be doing 'Scream 4'."

David claimed that he has been attached to the thriller film because he fell in love with Courteney during the shooting of the first flick. "I fell in love with my wife on 'Scream', so the opportunity to bring [Dewey] back to life and for my wife to play that really bitchy character again, it's just going to be really fun," he said, before adding "It's just great."

Being interviewed while he was hanging out in plastic box over Madison Square Garden in New York City for Feeding America during the chat, David also informed, "Kevin Williamson is writing the script at this moment and hopefully Wes Craven is going to direct." When asked about the storyline, the actor simply shared, "Kevin has sort of put out the broad strokes, but I don't think I'm at liberty to share any of that."

Although scriptwriter of the fourth movie, Kevin, recently revealed that Neve Campbell, who played the female leading role in the previous films, has turned down the offer to join the cast of "Scream 4", David still hoped his co-star would be back. "I hope Neve does it. I really hope so," he told E! Online.

The plot of "Scream 4", as of the press time, remains unknown. "Scream" itself centers on Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell, who is hunted by The Ghostface Killer. The new flick is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters in 2010. However, Dimension Films hasn't made an official announcement about who will be the producer and director of the new horror movie project.
