"Sex and the City" star Kim Cattrall and longtime boyfriend Alan Wyse have called it quits. The news has been confirmed by her representative who told E! News that the couple had been together for five years but decided to go their separate ways "a while ago."

Despite the fact that Kim and her younger chef beau have ended their romance, her publicist Jill Fritzo claimed, "They remain friends." Regarding the details of what prompted Kim and Alan to split, Jill refused to give any explanation.

Kim, 52, and Alan, 32, were last spotted hanging out together in November 2008 at an art exhibition opening in Manhattan. However, many reports have suggested that the relationship of the twosome had been on the rocks.

Aside from her personal life, Kim Cattrall is set to reprise her role on "Sex and the City 2" which will begin its shooting this fall. In addition, she will appear alongside Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan and James Belushi on thriller flick "The Ghost", which will hit U.S. theaters in 2010.
