Trace Cyrus Confirms His Split From Demi Lovato

Miley Cyrus' brother Trace Cyrus has confirmed his split from Demi Lovato, citing schedule and age differences as the reasons for the break-up.

Though Demi Lovato has admitted that she and Trace Cyrus are just good friends, the brother of Miley Cyrus reveals a different thing. The rock musician says he has split from the 16-year-old cutie.

"Demi is one of my good friends and I definitely became very, very close with her in the past few months, and it's something I really wanted to make work. But unfortunately, we both have very busy schedules - we're both on tour right now," Trace tells People. "I'm always on the other side of the world and so is she, so it just seemed like something that can't work out at this time."

In addition to their busy schedules, Trace cites their age differences as the reason for the split. "She's someone I can totally relate to, but she is a lot younger than me," the 20-year-old musician continues telling People. "When someone is that much younger, you're looking for different things in relationships. Maybe when she's older and we've both matured, we'll be looking for the same thing and it can work out."

Trace Cyrus was rumored dating Demi Lovato as they were often caught praising each other via Twitter. Recently, the "Here We Go Again" hitmaker turned down the reports, saying "Trace is really one of my good friends."

"People don't realize that he is really, really cool. And he is one of my good friends," she explained further. "I think we get along really well because he's someone who I can really talk to about a lot of stuff. We've both been through a lot."
