Nas and Kelis have welcomed a baby boy. The news was announced on Tuesday, July 21 by the father of the baby himself via a recorded video which was posted online. In the statement, he also revealed their baby's name. "My son is born today, so shout-out to my son, Knight," he said on the clip.
Earlier Tuesday, Kelis was reported in labor after she missed a scheduled court appearance for her and Nas' divorce case. After learning that his estranged wife was about to deliver their baby, Nas' lawyer said the rapper was "rushing to the hospital to be with her." The newborn baby is the first child for Kelis and the second for Nas as he has already had a 15-year-old daughter, called Destiny, from a previous relationship.
Kelis and Nas are currently estranged as she has filed for divorce from him on April 30 after they got married on January 8, 2005. In relation with their divorce, the "Milkshake" songstress is seeking child support and spousal support in addition to seeking the joint legal and physical custody of their son Knight.
