Jennifer Hudson, the finalist of "American Idol" 3rd season, welcomed her first baby with actor fiance David Otunga on late Monday, August 10. SHOWBIZ 411 reports that the 27-year-old songstress delivered a baby boy named David Daniel Otunga, Jr., who weighed in at 7 pounds and 14 ounces. "The baby is beautiful and perfect. His parents are ecstatic," Hudson's publicist says.
Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga got engaged on September 12, 2008. In March this year, she expressed her desire to start a family with the actor, saying "I definitely want a family. You know, I'm almost 30 now, so they gotta get started sometime."
Hinting at their marriage plans, Hudson stated, "We're both very creative and kind of unique." Then, she added, "I don't want to have the same exact wedding as everyone else...Lord, he might come walking down the aisle for all we know."
On May 30, the couple reportedly held a baby shower in Hudson's native Chicago. Though they kept the event a secret, her longtime friend Felicia Fields confirmed about the matter, stating "It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family."
