Involving in a three-car accident in his hometown Baltimore, Michael Phelps has caused an injured woman to be sent to a local hospital.
Professional swimmer
Michael Phelps was involved in a three-car accident in his hometown Baltimore on Thursday night, August 13. According to police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, the 24-year-old athlete was driving a black Cadillac Escalade when the car suddenly collided with a Honda Accord at the intersection of East Biddle and West Calvert streets before 9.00 P.M. The two cars then hit another car, who wasn't moving at that time.
An unidentified woman who drove the Accord was said being "shaken up", so she had to be taken to a local hospital as a precaution. At that time, the woman, according to TMZ, complained of "head and arm pain". However, police claimed her injuries didn't appear to be serious.
As for Phelps, he along with two passengers inside his car were not injured. Guglielmi stated Phelps has been interviewed by police and it was determined that alcohol was not a factor of the accident. No citations were issued and the cause of the accident is currently being investigated. The result of the investigation is expected to be released on Friday, August 14.
