Taylor Swift is featured in a promo video for 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. She has joined
Cobra Starship,
Katy Perry,
Russell Brand, and
Ne-Yo to shoot some versions of "Tonight", which comes from 1957 Broadway play "West Side Story".
In her version of the classic single, the young country music songstress is seen enthusiastically singing the tune inside an old taxi. Dishing on the tune, Swift tells MTV, "My version of 'Tonight' was pretty theatrical, because I listened to the song and I heard the song and I'm just like, 'There's no way to do this and not play it up.'"
Swift, furthermore, admits that she is very excited to sing the song. "When we were in the studio recording, it I just kind of went all out - all show tunes. I am obsessed with Broadway. So I was pretty excited about getting to sing this song," she says.
At 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, which will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on September 13, Taylor Swift is chosen as one of the nominees of Best Female Video cetegory, being nominated for the music video of "You Belong with Me". Beside securing a spot on the category, she is scheduled to take the stage to perform her songs at the event.
