Mischa Barton Asked to Reduce Weight for Role on 'The Beautiful Life: TBL'

Mischa Barton reportedly is 'shocked to tears' when learning that she is ordered to reduce her weight for portraying a drug-addicted supermodel on 'The Beautiful Life: TBL'.

Billed to star as a drug-addicted supermodel on upcoming CW show "The Beautiful Life: TBL", Mischa Barton reportedly has been ordered to lose 10 lbs of her weight. A source tells U.K. Star Magazine the young actress is "shocked to tears" when learning that she has to reduce her weight for her first appearance on small screen after leaving "The O.C." in 2006.

"She knows that means they are calling her fat behind her back. She knows she is heavier than she needs to be but to hear it like that ... it really shook her," the source says. "How can Mischa play a model when she's looking so heavy? She's broken down in tears more than once before shooting. It's a lot of pressure for someone who is just out of hospital."

Despite the rumor, Barton, who was recently released from hospital after being placed under involuntary psychiatric care, is said planning to shape her body soon. "She's always been able to lose weight fast. Everyone knows she's been struggling, so people are just really rooting for her," the source adds.

Produced by actor Ashton Kutcher, "The Beautiful Life: TBL" will be premiered on Wednesday, September 16 at 9:00 P.M. Recently, it was announced that an aspiring New York actor named Chad Lindsey will appear on the show to star as a photographer. Additionally, Jaime Murray will portray Vivienne, a wardrobe stylist who has eyes for Corbin Bleu's Isaac.
