Singing his version of 'Tonight' to promote 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Russell Brand serenading about hoping to see Katy Perry and Pink making out at the upcoming event.
Russell Brand's promotional video for 2009 MTV Video Music Awards has been released. In the 30-second clip, the famous comedian is videotaped dancing to "Tonight", a song which is taken from 1957 Broadway play "West Side Story". He sings the single on a New York City's street while he is on his way to Radio City Hall, where the event will be kicked off on September 13.
The video, moreover, features a scene which shows Brand singing about hoping to see
Katy Perry and
Pink making out at the show. Additionally, the 34-year-old star is also filmed repeatedly serenading about selling Moonmen for sexual favors.
Russell Brand joins Katy Perry,
Cobra Starship,
Leighton Meester,
Taylor Swift, and
Ne-Yo appear in some versions of "Tonight" to promote the 26th annual awards show. On Monday, August 17, a pic from Perry's video came out. In the shot, the 24-year-old songstress is seen striking a seductive pose when sitting on a director's chair in New York Times Square.
Several days before, Swift's promo clip for the show emerged. Talking about her version of "Tonight", the young singer told MTV, "It was pretty theatrical, because I listened to the song and I heard the song and I'm just like, 'There's no way to do this and not play it up.'"
