Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Leighton Meester, Cobra Starship, Ne-Yo, and Russell Brand are all featured in the full version of promo video for 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
The extended version of the promotional video for 2009 MTV Video Music Awards comes out. The clip features several famous stars, like
Taylor Swift,
Katy Perry,
Leighton Meester,
Cobra Starship,
Ne-Yo, and
Russell Brand, who all sing some versions of "Tonight" from famous Broadway play "West Side Story".
At the beginning of the footage, the personnel of Starship are filmed heading to a train station to go to the annual awards event. During their way, they pass Meester, who leans on a stair and holds a magazine. Then, the scene switches to capture sexy Perry holding a plant scissors when serenading the song in the top of a building.
In Swift's version of "Tonight", the 19-year-old songstress sings the song inside an old taxi. As for Brand, who has also been appointed to host the event, he is videotaped performing the single at a New York City's street while he is on his way to Radio City Hall, where the event will be kicked off on September 13. R&B singer Ne-Yo, in the meantime, appears at the end of the clip, singing the tune along with a group of guys.
2009 MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live on MTV September 13 at 9 P.M. ET. It will present performances from top-notch singers, including
Lady GaGa, Taylor Swift,
Pink, and
Green Day.
Chace Crawford, Katy Perry, and Ne-Yo have been announced as the presenters for the event.
