Jackson Rathbone claims his fighting scenes on 'The Twilight Saga's Eclipse' will be different from those he has to film on 'The Last Airbender'.
Jackson Rathbone hints at his fighting scenes on upcoming "
The Twilight Saga's Eclipse". On the third installment of "
Twilight", he reprises his role as Jasper Hale, a 166-year-old Civil War veteran whose transformation and redemption is a key theme on "Eclipse" and "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn".
"I get to shoot some Civil War stuff, and I'm also going to shoot a lot of fighting scenes," the 24-year-old star tells MTV News. "Which is great, because I just came off [M. Night Shyamalan's] '
The Last Airbender,' and I've been doing fighting for the last six months. So I'm ready to keep it on."
Explaining further about the fighting scenes, Rathbone states, "It won't be karate, it won't be kung fu, like the stuff we're doing in 'Airbender.'" He later continues, "But even in 'Airbender,' the fighting styles I was doing were a little bit more loose, like street fighting. And that's kind of what this is; it's about evading."
Rathbone, moreover, claims there will be a scene on "Eclipse" which shows Jasper gets bitten. "It's an interesting time to see when Jasper was actually human and what his human form was and, when he gets turned, how intense and how dark he is. Then [we'll see] his realization of what he's become, him finding Alice and being redeemed by love," he details.
Jackson Rathbone is currently in Vancouver, Canada to film "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse". Billed to be helmed by David Slade, who previously directed "
30 Days of Night", the flick is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on June 30, 2010.
