NFL Player Shawne Merriman Arrested After Attacking Girlfriend Tila Tequila

Athlete Shawne Merriman has been arrested after his girlfriend Tila Tequila made a call to police on early Sunday, September 6, claiming she had been chocked and restrained by him.

NFL player Shawne Merriman, who is also Tila Tequila's boyfriend, has been arrested on early Sunday, September 6, police have confirmed. The sheriff's department of San Diego County, California stated that at 3:45 A.M. "deputies responded to a disturbance call from a woman who claimed to have been choked and restrained by a male. Upon arrival at 12000 block of Sage Crest Drive in Poway, the reporting party identified herself as Tila Nguyen, aka Tila Tequila, and her alleged assailant as Shawne Merriman."

However, Shawne's attorney Todd Macaluso denied the allegations that have been charged on his client. The attorney claimed there were many other people at the San Diego Chargers linebacker's house at San Diego, California when the incident happened and "witness after witness after witness will back up his story 100 percent."

Following the alleged assault, Tila has been hospitalized. To the police, the reality star confessed that she had been choked by her boyfriend Shawne. When she tried to leave his residence, she was physically restrained by him. However, her representative declined to discuss about her condition and said Tila would have no comment on the incident at this time.
