Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley will soon welcome a new member in their family. During the taping of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", the episode of which will be aired on Friday, September 11, the actress has revealed that she and her musician husband are going to adopt a baby.
Speaking to the talk show's host, Ellen DeGeneres, Katherine said the baby is from Korea and will be 10 months old at the end of September. "She was actually born the day before me in November which I thought was really serendipitous and just kind of like a sign," Katherine additionally stated.
The "Knocked Up" actress then explained why she always feels that adoption is the right choice for her, saying "It's been a big part of my life and my family." Katherine further claimed, "My sister is Korean and my parents adopted her back in the 70s and so I just always knew that this is something I wanted to do."
News that Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley are going to be parents was first reported by Radar Online, which mentioned that the "Grey's Anatomy" star will adopt a baby girl named Nayleigh and her nickname will be Leigh. A source told that the 30-year-old beauty "is thrilled," before adding "She and Josh are so happy."
