In a new public service announcement for PETA, 'Inglourious Basterds' Eli Roth is seen kissing animatronic boa on the mouth.
Though he has done lots of gruesome torture scenes on his films, Eli Roth proves that he is aware of the animals' lives. Appearing in a new public service announcement (PSA) for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), he criticizes people who abuse animals.
In the PSA, he states, "While violence in the movies is make-believe, sadly, violence against
animals is all too real. [L]et's leave the violence where it belongs: on the screen." After mentioning the words, animatroni boa begins squeezing him. At the end of the clip, he is filmed giving the boa a friendly smooch on the mouth.
Commenting on the animal abuse, the 37-year-old star says in an interview with PETA, "I thought that in my case in particular, my link to violence in movies could be really helpful with this campaign." Then, he continues, "People see me and they expect, OK, something is going to happen, someone's going to get beheaded ... I wanted to use that attention that I get with violence in movies to draw attention to the problem of violence against animals."
