TMZ has released an audiotape which records President Barack Obama slamming for insulting at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. The off-the-record audio was made before he had an interview with CNBC in the White House on Monday, September 14.

Asked by the network's reporter John Harwood if his two daughters were upset when watching West interrupting Swift's award acceptance speech on Sunday night, September 13, the U.S. president admitted, "I thought that was really inappropriate." Then, he continued, "You know, it was like, she's getting an award and what are you butting in?"

"The young lady seems like a perfectly nice person, she's getting her award and what's he doing up there? He's a jackass," Obama added. Soon after that, all the camera's crew and people in the palace laughed at his candor. Later, Obama continued telling CNBC in an audiotape released by TMZ, "C'mon guys. Cut the president some slack. I've got a lot of other stuff on my plate."

Commenting on the 48-year-old president's statements, Bill Burton, the spokesperson for the White House said on Tuesday, September 15, "Look, I'm not going to get into what the President had to say in an off-the-record conversation." He later added, "But you should see what [White House chief of staff] Rahm [Emanuel] said about it."

In related news, President Barack Obama has been scheduled to make an appearance on "Late Show with David Letterman" on Monday, September 21. His upcoming appearance will mark the first time he makes a visit to the CBS show since being elected as the president of the United States in November 2008. Obama has made five previous appearances on the talk-show, including one in September last year during his campaign for the White House.
