Winner of "American Idol" season 8, Kris Allen, has premiered "Live Like We're Dying", a new single off his upcoming not-yet-titled album, at New York radio station Z100 on Monday, September 21. Speaking to MTV News, the Arkansas singer opened up that the tune had been earmarked as a single for himself since he began working on his post-Idol album in May.
"[The song] was actually one that we had listened to really early on, and we kind of just fell in love with it. Everyone did," Allen said. Talking about certain lyrics on the song that read "So if your life flashed before you / What would you wish you would have done?," the 24-year-old singer explained, "I wish I would have skydived. It's random, but I have always wanted to. I'm really scared to, but I think that it would be the biggest rush."
While he remained tight-lipped about the detail of his upcoming album, Allen mentioned that he has been working with some producers for the record. "We got a couple different producers on the album, but there's a couple songs that [Frampton and Kipner have produced]. And I'm actually going to London to work with them again," he stated.
Kris Allen's latest studio album will be available for purchase in the U.S. on November 17. Meanwhile, "Live Like We're Dying" is scheduled to hit iTunes on September 29.
